CSS birthday benefit estimates
We’ll send you a Benefit Estimate on your birthday each year until you claim1.

If you're within 12 months of claiming, contact us to request a Benefit Estimate. We’ll ask for information unique to your circumstances, so before you call us, read the different situations to know which one applies to your circumstances.
I'm retiring
If you're within 12 months of claiming, contact us to request a Benefit Estimate.
You need to tell us:
- the date you intend to retire or discharge from the ADF (we can provide an estimate up to 5 years from your retirement date, but if you don’t have a date we’ll use today’s date);
- your rank at transition;
- your salary and pay increment at transition;
- your exit type; and
- your commutation election.
CSS
I'm resigning from work (also known as 54/11)
If you intend to resign from work at least two calendar days before your 55th birthday2, you need to tell us:
- the date you intend to resign in the next 12 months; and
- your final salary, if known. (If you won’t know your final salary, we’ll use the last salary recorded on your account to estimate your benefit.)

I'm retiring age
If you intend to retire from work from age 553, you need to tell us:
- the date you intend to retire in the next 12 months;
- your super salary at your next birthday (if you will have a birthday before you intend to retire); and
- your final salary.

I intend to Transition to Retirement (TTR)
If you’ve previously initiated a TTR, are still in eligible employment, and have reached preservation age, you need to tell us:
- the date you intend to retire in the next 12 months.
I'm being made redundant
If you’re being made redundant, retrenched, or dismissed from employment at any age, you may be eligible for a redundancy benefit. We’ll need:
- a Redundancy Benefit Estimate Request or a Departmental Report from your employer indicating that redundancy applies;
- your final salary;
- your birthday salary; and
- your exit date.
The information you supply must match the information supplied by your employer.
How to use the i-Estimator
- Log in to the CSC Navigator.
- Select the i-Estimator from your home page.
Claim your benefit
How you access your super will depend on your age and employment status. Go to Access your benefit and select your fund to see the benefit application form for your situation. Eligible members can log in to the CSC Navigator and submit a benefit application form online.
