Additional contributions

When it comes to your retirement, it’s the little things that make a big difference – from what you save, to what you contribute. Learn about how you can contribute more to your super here.

You don’t have to contribute extra to super, however doing so may be a good idea as your retirement savings may need to last you 20 years or longer. Even small regular amounts can have a big impact on your retirement over a long investment period.

Contributing MilitarySuper members can make additional personal contributions. These are made from your after-tax income.

You can contribute these amounts voluntarily in addition to your regular member contributions.

To avoid incurring extra tax, remember to note your contribution limit for non-concessional contributions which includes any additional personal contributions.

Read the Additional personal contributions factsheet for more information and visit the Australian Tax Office website for more information.

How do I start?

Complete and return our Additional personal contributions deposit form. You’ll need to do this each time you deposit your contribution by cheque or money order directly to MilitarySuper.
