Listen up ladies, let's talk about money

Talking about money with your friends and family doesn’t need to be as awkward as the title of this article.

There are specific challenges that women face when it comes to managing money. Many women take time out of the paid workforce to care for others, which reduces their retirement savings. And with a longer life expectancy than men, this often puts women in a particularly vulnerable position when it comes to their finances.

The Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) want people, especially women, to start talking openly about their good and bad money habits, financial decisions they’ve made in their lives, and how to plan for the future.

To get these conversations started, Laura Higgins—Senior Executive Leader of ASIC’s Financial Capability team—sat down with five influential and inspirational Australian women to chat about their money experiences.
