Legislative Outcomes Assessment

In April 2019, the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act 1993 was amended to replace the MySuper scale test with an annual Legislative Outcomes Assessment (LOA).

This means that every year CSC is required to determine whether our PSSap, ADF Super and CSCri MySuper and Choice products are meeting the financial interests of our customers that have those products.

To make these assessments CSC uses heat maps. There are two components to these heat maps: product comparison and product assessment.

There is one LOA heat map for each of CSC’s MySuper and Choice products. Where a product has multiple investment options, the LOA heat map includes a column for each option plus a column containing an overall assessment for the product.

The key to the heat maps explains the basis of scoring for each measure in the product comparison and product assessment. The measures used are determined by legislation and by the regulator, APRA. Certain ‘primary measures’ are given more weight in the overall determination because CSC considers them to be most important when considering the financial interests of our customers.
