Information Publication Scheme

The Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation (CSC) is subject to the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act), and the associated Information Publication Scheme (IPS) requirements.

Information Publication Plan

The Plan shows what information CSC publishes, how and to whom information is published and how CSC meets the requirements of the IPS under the FOI Act.

Who we are

CSC was established by the Governance of Australian Government Superannuation Schemes Act 2011. CSC is a body corporate, subject to the Commonwealth Authorities and Companies Act 1997. The Directors are appointed by the Minister for Finance and Deregulation, in accordance with the Governance of Australian Government Superannuation Schemes Act 2011. Three Directors are nominated by the President of the Australian Council of Trade Unions, two Directors are nominated by the Chief of the Defence Force, and the rest are chosen by the Minister.

Regular reports to Parliament

Each year CSC is required to provide Annual Reports to Parliament:

CSC is also required to provide and publish indexed file lists of file titles created each year (the ‘Harradine Order’).

Regular FOI disclosure

Information that has been released in response to a FOI request must be published in CSC’s disclosure log. So far, no such information has been disclosed.

Charges

CSC will generally provide access to information free of charge, unless there is an undue administrative burden. In these cases, charges will be imposed in accordance with the relevant provisions of the FOI Act, and at the rate prescribed by the Freedom of Information (Charges) Regulations 1982.

CSC also charges a fee of $150 for the preparation of a response to requests for superannuation information made in accordance with family law legislation (that is, an application for superannuation information or Form 6, under section 90MZB of the Family Law Act 1975). This fee covers the cost of the administration work required to respond to these requests for information.
